Sami Kay Martin is first and foremost a survivor. She is currently a reporter living in New York City and says she is happier now than ever before. When not writing, Sami works at the Valley Stream Presbyterian Church in Valley Stream, Long Island. She is also on the ordination track for the Presbyterian Church and has worked extensively in youth ministry.
She has led workshops on teen suicide, dating violence and sexual assault. Her master’s thesis, “What Women Need: Surviving Sexual Assault” earned the highest marks possible and was selected for installation in the library of Union Theological Seminary in New York, where she earned an MA and MDiv. degree.
